So FAR, So… (Work-in-progress Presentation)

Inspired by Simon Stephens’s Song From Far Away, the Creative Director Ivanhoe Lam leads the team to respond to the seven letters in the play as a work-in-progress presentation, in preparation for the full production in January 2026.

Song From Far Away is a personal letter from those left behind. It is a journey back home – to estranged family and forgotten relationships. As the main character reflects on his life, unwilling to face the future, he finds himself reaching out to the brother he lost.

This preliminary theatrical exploration seeks to grapple with the limits of letter writing and to consider channels of communication which might cross beyond our living world.

So FAR, So… is one of the “Unbox EKCC” trial programmes of the East Kowloon Cultural Centre
