Ondées draws inspiration from spring rain, transforming it into an immersive journey of sound and light. Golden Melody Award-winning composer and jazz musician Alan Kwan partners with French digital media artist Sébastien Labrunie to embark on a lyrical dialogue between Alan’s signature mellow jazz tunes and Sébastien’s mesmerizing digital projections.

Ondées celebrates more than the rain itself. Through the interplay of sound and light, it creates an introspective audiovisual experience that echoes rain’s many forms—soft drizzles, rushing torrents, and the silences in between. It contemplates on the delicate balance between chaos and serenity of nature, inviting reflection on humanity’s connection to nature.

In the four Performance/Installation sessions on 8 and 9 March, Alan Kwan performs his new compositions for Ondées live together with jazz pianist Bowen Li. The duo’s improvisational performance interacts real-time with the digital projections and introduces spontaneity and complexity to the installation, creating a dynamic and immersive experience which mirrors nature’s unpredictability.
