Even if we endure hardships together, there's no guarantee we can make it to the end.

Following "A Poem In Jail", "The Sparkling and Swaying Snow", and "Goldfish of Berlin", the latest creation of Yan Pat-to's love series once again reflects the city's desolation and emotional wounds through relationships.

Ka-yan and Yin-Hei, a physical therapist and an insurance professional respectively, face the city's various pains due to their jobs. After three years of dating and cohabiting in Kowloon Bay, the pandemic forces them into close proximity, prompting them to reflect on an unclear future. One day, Ka-yan dreams of an elderly man who says, 'What you fear is not me, but aging.' Without discussing a breakup, she leaves Kowloon Bay to follow Hayden, whom she just met, to attend the Summer Sonic music festival in Osaka, Japan. Yet, leaving Hong Kong makes her yearn even more for the city and for Yin-Hei.

The performance invites director Amos Wong Ho-Yin, known for films like "Dot 2 Dot" and "Far Far Away", to create a unique participatory theatre experience that combines film with theatre, guiding the audience through various spaces of the East Kowloon Cultural Centre. It is a self-guided journey with live performers at some locations, where you will peer through the gaps to witness the many changes in Kowloon Bay, experiencing their (perhaps our) prolonged joys and indelible pains. In this lonely space, one wanders in solitude.
